  8. Select the checkbox next to Remember password and Require logon using Secure Password Authentication.
  9. After that, you will need to select the More Settings option and complete Outgoing Server info in the prompted fields as suggested below.
  10. Select the checkbox next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  11. Select the checkbox next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  12. Then, you will need to go to the Advanced tab and enter the following information in the prompted fields as suggested below:
    1. Incoming Server: Enter 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3)
    1. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL
    1. Outgoing server: Enter 465 (IMAP and POP3)
    1. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select SSL
  13. Once you are done entering the information in the appropriate fields as suggested, you will need to select the OK button and then on the Next button.
  14. As you will click on the Next button, Outlook will open a window on your screen where your account connection will be tested.
  15. If the testing process will be get completed successfully, simply click on the Finish button.

NOTE: If the testing process doesn’t get completed successfully, you will need to verify the settings and ensure everything is entered correctly.

To Verify or Update AT&T Email Settings

If you already have configured your email account, but wish to update it with your secure mail key, you can follow the instructions provided below:

  • On your Outlook program, select the File option and click on the Account Settings option.
  • Next, you will need to select your SBCglobal email account and then click on the Change option.
  • After that, you will need to confirm or enter the IMAP or POP settings as suggested below:
    • Incoming Server: imap.mail.att.net (for IMAP) or inbound.att.net (for POP3)
    • Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.att.com (for IMAP) or outbound.att.net (for POP3)
  • Then, you will need to verify or enter your User Name (your complete AT&T email address)
  • Next, you will need to enter your secure mail key in the password field and select the checkbox next to Remember Password option.
  • After that, you will need to select the Next button. A window will pop-up on your screen in which Outlook will test the configuration.
  • If the testing process gets completed successfully, you can click on the Close button and then on the Finish button to save the updates you did.

NOTE: If the testing process doesn’t get completed successfully, you will need to verify the settings and ensure everything is entered correctly.
